Bujanovac – The Deputy Mayor of Bujanovac, Stojanca Arsic, said that the local self-government was trying to revive the economy, adding that the “economic problems were much greater than the security and safety ones”.

PROTECTION OF CROPS UNDER POOR CONDITIONS

Leskovac - Every anti-hail station in the Jablanica District has three to four rockets, while it is expected that sufficient funds will be provided in the country's budget for the purchase of new ones, said the Head of the District Office or Emergency Situations in Leskovac Miodrag Marjanovic.

THIS MORNING’S STORM IN MEDVEDJA, FLOODS WASHED AWAY LOCAL ROADS

Stormy weather accompanied by heavy rain, which swept over the area of the municipality of Medvedja at around 6 am this morning, damaged the asphalt roads and homes in several villages, said the Mayor of Medvedja Slobodan Draskovic.

Torrential waters completely washed away most of the five-kilometer road leading to the village of Kapit and to the neighborhood of Cokotanci, as well as those leading to the villages of Marovac, Djulekare and Rujkovac.

BUSINESS INCUBATOR CENTER (BIC) HELPS ROMA TO START THEIR OWN BUSINESSES

The BIC celebrates the first year of existence of its virtual business incubator center, which owing to the support of the European Union and the Government of Switzerland, backs the development of entrepreneurship among the Roma population.

 The result of the project is the establishment of a virtual incubator for starting small businesses, whose owners are members of the Roma population in South Serbia.

WHEN A WOMAN SOLDIER REFEREES

Vranje/Bujanovac - A football match between the teams of the Army of Serbia and KFOR was recently played on a big football field in the “Jug” army base near Bujanovac.  The players of both teams played extremely well, while no one remained indifferent to the way the football trio, which was led by Corporal Jasmina Zafirovic Stijelja from Vranje, refereed the game.  Jasmina's excellent referring of the game was a surprise to the members of KFOR, but her colleagues from the Fourth Brigade of the Army knew well that she was undoubtedly the best in the Army of Serbia.

KALE KRSEVICA

The northernmost settlement dating back to the 4 th. and 3rd. centuries BC, which had a complete water-supply system, including a water tank made of stone - Kale Krsevica, has been explored in Krsevica near Bujanovac for as many as 14 years.  Work on the acropolis is in progress, which the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia funds with one million dinars. Both archaeologists and locals are engaged in work at the site.

RAMADAN BAYRAM GREETINGS

On the occasion of Ramadan Bayram, Zoran Stankovic, the President of the Coordination Body for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, extended his greetings to the residents of these municipalities who celebrate the holiday, wishing they celebrated it while being healthy, in happiness and peace and with their families and friends.

SUBOTICA FACULTY’S DEPARTMENT GETS A BUILDING IN BUJANOVAC

Thanks to the donation of the EU Progress program of 1.2 million euros,  the construction of a building in Bujanovac, that will be used by the Faculty of Economics from Subotica, is due to begin in September, said the Head of the municipal Office for the Local Economic Development, Fazila Azemovic.

At 5 pm on Friday, July 25, the “Reload” NGO from Vranje will hold a panel discussion, where  those who make money online and who have experience in the Internet business will speak.  The panel discussion will be held at the Public University’s hall.

6,000 HOUSEHOLDS FAILED TO PAY ELECTRICITY BILLS

Vranje – It’s getting increasingly more difficult for the “Electric Power Distribution Company” from Vranje to charge the supplied electricity, especially from the households. Unpaid bills, at the moment, amount to 600 million dinars. The companies owe 165 million dinars.  The outstanding liabilities of the households are two and a half times larger than those of the companies, amounting to 435 million dinars.
