Dragin delivers 15 tons of flour to the Red Cross in Bujanovac Sasa Dragin, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, is going to deliver to the Red Cross Branch Office in Bujanovac a donation consisting of 15 tons of flower tomorrow, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management stated.

FIVE MILLION EUR FOR SOUTH SERBIA Under the Agreement on Development of Cooperation between the Governments of the Republic of Serbia and the Kingdom of Denmark, which was on Friday signed by Diana Dragutinovic, Serbia’s Minister of Finance, and Mete Kjuel Nielsen, the Danish Ambassador to Serbia,  the Kingdom of Denmark is going to donate to our country five million euros, which are assigned for the purpose of developing agriculture in South Serbia or in the territory of the Jablanica, Nis, Pcinj and Toplica Districts.

DACIC: STABLE SITUATION IN SOUTH SERBIA Ivica Dacic, Serbia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Affairs, said that the situation in Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja was stable following the announcement of the International Court of Justice’s opinion on Kosovo.

POVERTY The German government and the municipalities of Aleksinac, Bujanovac, Pirot and Presevo invested 956,200 EUR in reduction of poverty in this part of Serbia.

FOOTBALL SCHOOL IN MEDVEDJA

Owing to the support of the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, the “Jablanica” football club started a football school that gathers together the young from the municipality of Medvedja. From the establishment of the football school in April 2010, the “Jablanica” football club and its members played four friendly matches and took part in one tournament. The “Jablanica” football club scored excellent results at all the matches it had played.

Galip Beciri, President of the Albanian National Council, said that a constitutive session of the Albanian National Council would be held in Bujanovac on Saturday, July 24, 2010, and that reperesentatives of the Albanians from Bujanovac, Presevo and Medvedja would attend it.

17.5 MILLION EUR FOR 25 MUNICIPALITIES 25 municipalities in the southern and southwestern Serbia are going to get 17.5 million euros for their development over the next three years. The European Union is going to provide 13.5, the Swiss government 2.5 and the Serbian government 1.5 million euros. This was provided under the Agreement on Implementation of the “Progress” Program, which was signed in Vranje by Vincent Degert, Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia and Bozidar Djelic, the Serbian Vice Prime Minister.

STREET ACTIVITY IN BUJANOVAC

As part of the project “I like Bujanovac”, which was supported by the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, the Center for Tolerance and Integration of South Serbia organized a four- hour street activity on July 19, 2010. Within this activity, a multiethnic group of members of the said organization handed leaflets out to the residents of Bujanovac by which the young of all ethnic backgrounds were encouraged to get involved in promotion of their municipality. The leaflets were printed in Serbian, Albanian and Romany.

EU Provides Financial Assistance to South Serbia   Today, Bozidar Djelic, the Serbian Vice Prime Minister, and Vincent Degert, Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia, are going to sign the Agreement on Providing a Grant for Implementing „The European Partnership with Municipalities – Progress“Program in Vranje. The program is aimed at supporting the development of 25 municipalities in South and South Western Serbia over the next three years. „Progress“is a joint program of the EU and the Swiss and Serbian governments, it was said in the statement issued by Vice Prime Minister Djelic’s office.
