GO INTO BUSINESS

The “Go into Business” program supports all those who wish to start or improve their own business operations. All citizens of Serbia that have good business ideas, regardless of which region they come from, can become beneficiaries of the said program. The “Philip Morris” tobacco company donates through the program, which is implemented by the ENECA citizens’ association from Nis, grants amounting to up to 200, 000 RSD for the purchase of the equipment for carrying out business operations.

MR. STANKOVIC AND MR. VOLLEBAEK ON THE NEW BUILDING OF THE FACULTY OF ECONOMICS IN BUJANOVAC

President of the Coordination Body for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, Zoran Stankovic, said that the construction of the building of the Faculty of Economics’ Department in Bujanovac would begin this March and that it should be completed by this October.

SAFER CITIES

Source: Jugpress / Novi Sad - Leskovac – On January 24 and 25, 2013, representatives of the Working Group for Developing the Regional Security Strategy of the Jablanica and Pcinj Districts visited the Government of the AP of Vojvodina, where they familiarized themselves with the examples of Vojvodina’s best practices. The study visit was organized by the PBILD Program and was in connection with the "Safer Cities” project.

21 KG OF HEROIN DISCOVERED NEAR PRESEVO

Source: Jugpress / Presevo – More than 21 kg of heroin were discovered on the Presevo border crossing last night.  The heroin was in the possession of a Turkish citizen.   The heroin was discovered thanks to a joint activity of the customs and the police. It was placed in the jeep’s spare wheel. The event took place at the entrance from Macedonia to Serbia, while the jeep’s driver was a Turkish national. The drugs were discovered by the use of a mobile scanner, which is at the customs’ disposal.  Following the jeeps’ examination, the mobile scanner devise showed that the jeep’s wheel was filled with a great deal of small parcels. The total quantity of discovered heroin was 21 kilograms and 152 grams, which was packed in 39 parcels; it was said in the statement.

222 MILLION DINARS: NEW PROJECTS FOR BUJANOVAC, PRESEVO AND MEDVEDJA

Source: Tanjug Press Agency / According to the data provided by the Coordination Body’s Office, 102.5 million dinars were earmarked in 2012 for Presevo, 90.7 for Bujanovac and 28.8 for Medvedja.  The most important projects include the out-patient maternity ward and the Faculty of Economics.

IMPLEMENTATION OF THE “ECO FRIENDLY” PROJECT

Olivera Milosevic, the Head of the "Green Key" organization, said that the project began to be implemented in October 2012, thanks to the donation of the “Philip Morris” tobacco company.
