BETTER CHANCES

Upon studying Serbian for three months, 90 secondary school students from Presevo received the appropriate certificates. They will, now, have a better chance of getting a job at the governmental institutions. The said course in Serbian was funded by the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, whereas it was organized by the “International Human Center” NGO. The latter organization said that it would also organize a course in Serbian for the Albanians employed at both public and private companies. According to the data, the people were extremely interested in the said course, so that 120 Albanians registered to do it, even though only 90 persons could take it.

AROUND TEWNTY CLUSTER BOMBS FOUND NEAR PRESEVO

Presevo – From April 29, 2011 until now, almost 20 remaining cluster bombs were found and destroyed near the village of Bustranje, which is situated in the municipality of Presevo, said, yesterday, Emil Jeremic, Director of the Norwegian People’s Aid Office in Serbia, which funds the removal of unexploded bombs.

PRESIDENT OF THE COORDINATION BODY VISITS PRESEVO AND BUJANOVAC

On Friday, May 20, 2011, Minister Milan Markovic, President of the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja awarded in Presevo diplomas to participants in a course in Serbian. The project was funded by the Coordination Body, whereas it was implemented by the “International Human Center” organization from Presevo. The three – month course in Serbian was attended by 90 persons, primarily by secondary school pupils and university students.

MR.VATLE WAS THE FIRST PERSON TO WARN AGAINST BOGUS ASYLUM-SEEKERS

At the beginning of March this year, Mr. Melkior Vatle, the Belgian Minister for Immigration and Asylum, along with Mr. Jean-Louis De Brouwer, the European Commission’s official, and Ms Denise De Hauwere, the Belgian Ambassador to Serbia, paid a visit to Bujanovac, where he talked with representatives of the Albanians from Bujanovac and Presevo about the issue of an increased number of applications of South Serbia’s citizens for asylum in Belgium.

RESULTS OF THE PROJECT ON REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH OF ROMA

The results of a three-year project ”Access to Medical Services by which the Reproductive System of Women and Young and Displaced Roma Persons in South Serbia are Treated” were represented  at the Belgrade-based “Hotel M”.

WORK ON DEVELOPING ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS IN PRESEVO

As part of the project “For Ecologically Viable Environment”, the “Green World” association of citizens for environmental protection from Presevo organized an exhibition of paintings on environment at the hall of the “Abdula Krasnica” community center in Presevo. Secondary school students from Presevo were asked to do paintings of protection of the environment in the municipality of Presevo.

Minister Milan Markovic, President of the Coordination Body, Pays a Visit to Presevo and Bujanovac 

Milan Markovic, Minster of Human and Minority Rights, Public Administration and Local Self-Government and President of the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja is going to award diplomas to beneficiaries of a course in Serbian, which was organized by the „International Human Center“.  The diplomas will be awarded at the Presevo-based „Abdula Krasnica“ community center at 11 am on Friday, May 20, 2011. Minister Markovic will, thereupon, visit TV Presevo.
