Zoran Stankovic, President of the Coordination Body for the Municipalities of  Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, will meet today with Verica Kalanovic, Minister of Regional Development and Local Self-government, and with the Mayor of Presevo, Ragmi Mustafa, at the relevant ministry to intensify cooperation and discuss the projects and economic development of that area.

On March 13, 2013, during a visit to the flooded areas, the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja was notified by Nagip Arifi, the Mayor of Bujanovac, on the situation that was caused when the Serbian Army patrol had caught, at a prohibited spot on the administrative line, several people trying to cross the line with their cattle.

TRAINING IN ORGANIC AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTON

Leskovac – Over the next six days, the Centre for the Development of Jablanica and Pcinj Districts will be providing training in the field of organic agricultural production for participants in the project “Support to Organic Food Production in South Serbia", which is funded by the Austrian Development Agency ADA.

DEVELOPMENT OF SOUTH SERBIA A PRIORITY FOR THE GOVERNMENT

Nis – The Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic said two days ago in Nis that the economic reconstruction and development of the southern part of the country were of priority strategic interest for the Serbian government, since the continuing impoverishment and depopulation of that part of the country might have disastrous consequences for Serbia.

Belgrade – Problems of the young in the municipality of Medvedja in South Serbia are the same regardless of their ethnicity, regardless of whether they are Serbs or Albanians, it was said at the forum that was held in the said municipality.

SOUTH SERBIA IS NOT THE TOPIC OF THE BRUSSELS TALKS

The Declaration of Albanians from South Serbia that seeks reciprocity in the rights that Serbs in the northern part of Kosovo should receive won’t be on the negotiating table in Brussels, said Zoran Stankovic. The only document that is the basis for the discussion is the joint platform of February 25, 2013, said Mr. Stankovic.

POSITIONS FOR FUTURE TALKS AGREED IN BUJANOVAC

Bujanovac – The Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia, Peter Burkhard, said yesterday in Bujanovac that the President of the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, Zoran Stankovic, and representatives of ethnic Albanians from Bujanovac and Presevo had agreed on the positions for future talks.

1.3 MILLION DINARS FOR REPAIRING THE DAMAGE CAUSED BY FLOODS

The Coordination Body earmarked 1.3 million dinars for the first phase of repairing the damage caused by floods in Bujanovac and Presevo. Also, another six million dinars were demanded from the budget reserves, while assistance will be requested from the competent state bodies, too, for the purpose of helping the flooded households, said Zoran Stankovic, the President of the Coordination Body.
