RANK LIST OF THE APPLICANTS FOR 2014 STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF NOVI SAD

Applicants whose names and surnames are above the red line have been selected to take an entrance exam to the faculties of the University of Novi Sad, while those candidates whose names and surnames are below the red line haven’t been selected.

AID PROVIDED BY THE MUNICIPALITY OF PRESEVO TO THE FLOOD-AFFECTED IN SERBIA

The Head of the Staff for Emergency Situations in the municipality of Presevo informed us that the Presevo Staff for EmergencySituations decided to send 17, 280 liters of water to the flood-affected in the municipality of Ljig.  One member of the Presevo Staff for Emergency Situations went to Ljig by truck to deliver the water to a member of the Staff for Emergency Situations in Ljig.

AIDA COROVIC HOLDS CLOSING PANEL DISCUSSIONS ON MINORITY RIGHTS IN BUJANOVAC AND PRESEVO

A series of debates on the issues of women's rights in South Serbia continues on May 30, 2014,  by three panel discussions on women's rights, which will be held during the civic education classes at St. Sava secondary school in Bujanovac and at the “Skenderbeg“ grammar school in Presevo.  The said panel discussions will be held by Aida Corovic, who is an MP, a human rights activist and the former coordinator of the non-governmental organization “Urban In“ from Novi Pazar.The panel discussions will be held as part of the closing activities  for the “Equalize Me“ project, which is aimed at raising awareness of the importance of respecting the rights of minorities.  

The above-mentioned  panel discussion will be held:

- From 9.40 am to 10.25 am at the “Skenderbeg“ grammar school in Presevo,

- From 12.15 am to 1 pm at the “Sezai Suroi“ grammar school in Bujanovac,

- From 2.45 pm to 3.30 pm at the “St.Sava“ secondary school in Bujanovac.   

Over two decades’ long activities of Aida Corovic are related to the protection of human rights, while her activities related to women's rights and gender equality are especially important.   

The series of debates on minority groups and their rights in Serbia are part of the “Equalize Me!“ project.  As part of the project , apart from discussions on minority rights, the following activities  were completed over the past year: the “We-Here“campaign, which included a variety of activities, movies and plays and whose audience included over 8 000 people, the training of young people for active participation through journalism and activism and the work of local and regional teams of professionals from institutions and organizations dealing with minorities. The “Equalize Me“ project is implemented by the “Generator“ NGO from Vranje, while it is funded by the EU Delegation to Serbia, as part of the EIDHR program, as well as by the municipalities in which it is implemented.

“SIMPEN” COMPANY FROM BUJANOVAC DONATES PILLOWS AND MATTRESSES TO THE FLOOD-AFFECTED POPULATION

The company for the production of sponge and non-woven textiles placed 500 mattresses and 115 pillows at the disposal of the Red Cross of Serbia, as a donation to help the flood-affected population.

MEDVEDJA PAYS BEST SALARIES IN SOUTH SERBIA

Medvedja - The highest average April salary in the Jablanica District was recorded in the municipality of Medvedja, which amounted to the average of 41, 256 dinars, while Vlasotince was at the bottom of the list with 28, 808 dinars. The employees in Bojnik received 33, 769 dinars, those in Crna Trava 31, 605 dinars and those in Lebane 32, 016 dinars

According to the opinion of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, a candidate for student scholarship from the municipality of Bujanovac, Art Mustafa, doesn’t meet the formal requirements of the competition.

AGRICULTURE SUFFERED ENORMOUS DAMAGE

Lower temperatures and a higher precipitation in April and May caused damage to the fruit growers of the Jablanica District, while the yield of some agricultural products, according to the experts, will be reduced by as much as 70 percent.

FRIENDS OF NISVILLE HELP SERBIA

Support for the Serbian citizens affected by floods comes from the jazz musicians from Europe and the world, who are friends of the "Nisville Jazz Festival."

Members of the "Brussels Jazz Orchestra" invited all their friends, fans and people of good will to stand in solidarity with the citizens of Serbia who were left homeless due to floods.

ARRESTED IN PRESEVO DUE TO MARIJUANA

Presevo – According to the Vranje Police Department, the Presevo and Bujanovac police jointly seized 3,383 grams of a substance, which is suspected to be marijuana, in a village near Presevo, in the household od S.V (1994).

MUNICIPALITY OF BUJANOVAC ORGANIZED COLLECTION OF AID FOR FLOOD VICTIMS

Bujanovac - The municipality of Bujanovac is sending aid to the flood-affected residents of the municipalities of Paracin, Smederevska Palanka and Despotovac.

Nedzat Behljuli, from the Local Economic Development Office, said that the Municipal Council had reached a decision on collecting aid at the meeting held on May 21.
