INTERNS VISITED THE PROTECTOR OR CITIZENS’ OFFICE

On January 12, 2012, ten male and female interns, who are part of the Internship Program that is implemented at the institutions of the Republic of Serbia, visited the Protector of Citizens’ Office, where they talked with Goran Basic, the Deputy Protector of Citizens. Given that the Protector of Citizens’ offices had been opened in Novi Pazar, Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, where the interns come from, it was particularly important for those young people to learn about the Protector of Citizen’s activities and the issues that he encounters while working in those municipalities.

SCHOLARS PAYING A VISIT TO THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY

Ten male and female scholars, who are, through the “Internship Program for Members of Ethnic Minorities”, going to acquire new knowledge and experiences at the institutions of the Republic of Serbia over a six-month period, visited the National Assembly on Tuesday, December 13, 2011, where they were received by Slavica Djukic Dejanovic, the Speaker of the National Assembly.

THIRD GENERATION OF SCOLARSHIP HOLDERS FROM SOUTH SERBIA IN BELGRADE

On Fridy, November 18, 2011, scholarships will be awarded to the third generation of secondary school students by the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja. This year, scholarships will be awarded to 233 secondary school students, which menas that 27 more scolarships will  be awarded in comparison with the last year.

OPENING OF FACULTY OF ECONOMICS’ DEPARTMENT IN BUJANOVAC

A department of the Subotica-based Faculty of Economics was opened in Bujanovac on Friday, October 28, 2011. The first generation of 69 students, who will attend the classes in both Serbian in Albanian, enrolled in the 2011/2012 academic year. The classes for students from the Serbian and Roma communities will be held in Serbian, while students from the Albanian community, during their four years' long studying, will attend the classes in 14 subjects in Albanian.

FOR CLEANER BUJANOVAC - September 29, 2011

The Development Agency for Presevo and Bujanovac, with the financial assistance of the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, put up waste-bins in Bujanovac last week. Owing to the aforementioned activity, and as part of the concern for the environment, cleanliness and Bujanovac’s appearance, the city has become richer in 14 metal-made waste-bins.

THE ABC BOOK FOR CHILDREN FROM THE ALBANIAN COMMUNITY

Yesterday, Minister Milan Markovic, President of the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, Spetim Causi, Ambassador of the Republic of Albania to Serbia, Dimitrios Kypreos, Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia and Galip Beciri, President of the Albanian National Council presented in Bujanovac the ABC book for pupils from the Albanian community.

THE ACTIVITY OF PUTTING UP ELEVATORS FOR DISABLED PERSONS IN BUJANOVAC

At the end of November 2011, 38 young persons, who are involved in the Youth Build Serbia project, started putting up elevators for disabled persons (EDP) at the entrance of the health center in Bujanovac.  This group of young people undergoes a three-month training, which is a part of the Youth Build project. The training is provided in the municipalities of Presevo and Bujanovac by the Civic Initiatives organization.

233 Scholarships Awarded to Coordination Body's Secondary School Scholarship Holders from the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja

„Every child in Serbia is entitled to the best possible education in his/her mother tongue“, said Boris Tadic, the Serbian President, and at a reception held in honor of the Coordination Body for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja's secondary school scholarship holders. Mr. Tadic pointed out that it was the right, obligation and desire of the Republic of Serbia, adding that a great mission was being accomplished,  whereby every child  would preserve his/her cultural identity and love his/her country, which is the Republic of Serbia.

YOUTH TRAINING CENTER OPENED IN BUJANOVAC

A center for the training of forty young persons from the municipalities of Bujanovac and Presevo was opened in Bujanovac last week. The center was opened by the Belgrade-based “Civic Initiatives” organization, as part of the “Youth Build” program.

COURSE IN SERBIAN HELD IN BUJANOVAC

A course in Serbian, which was organized by the Center for Tolerance and Integration of South Serbia, has been running in Bujanovac for as long as three months.  The course is designed for all those who wish to learn or improve their knowledge of Serbian.  Thirty course beneficiaries attend the classes in Serbian every weekend.

THE „OUR HOME 2“ PLAY

Last week-end, the “Future” organization from Veliki Trnovac performed for the citizens of Bujanovac the “Our Home 2” play. The said play is continuation of the play with the same name that was performed at Bujanovac’s “Vuk Karadzic” community center over a month ago.  This time, the young of the organization decided to perform the play in the open, on the main Bujanovac promenade, with the aim of attracting as many viewers as possible.
