Mobile Career Guidance Services to Youth in Vranje, Bujanovac, Presevo and Gadzin Han

Source: USAID’s website / As part of the USAID’s Sustainable Local Development Program, mobile career guidance teams were set up at the beginning of June 2012. These teams began providing counseling and career advice services to youth in underdeveloped and rural communities throughout the Vranje-led inter-municipal cooperation area (consisting of Vranje, Bujanovac, Presevo and Gadzin Han).

FIRE IN THE AREA OF THE VILLAGE OF DOBROSIN

Source: Danas daily / Bujanovac, Presevo, Vranje - A forest fire in the wider mountainous area of the village of Dobrosin, which is situated sixteen kilometers southeast of Bujanovac, swept the forest terrain where there are still some cluster bombs, but the army, the residents and their property are protected, it was confirmed at the military base close to the administrative line with Kosovo.

Tomislav Simonovic, the Head of school administration for the Jablanica and Pcinj districts, said that textbooks in Albanian for children from the first to the fourth grade were already in the press and that they would be ready by the beginning of the school year.

TRAINING FOR COLLECTORS OF RECYCABLES

The NGO "Porecje" from Vucje, with the financial support of “Caritas” from Luxembourg, initiated the “Support of Waste Collectors in South Serbia “project. The aim of the project is to improve the lives of marginalized people in South Serbia. It will be implemented until the first quarter of 2013 through the empowerment and support of 40 waste collectors.

WHEN YOUNG PEOPLE HAVE IDEAS AND MUNICIPALITIES PROVIDE FUNDS

According to this year's awards “MLADGRAD 2012”, Presevo, Ivanjica, Blace, Kikinda, Krupanj and Loznica are the municipalities that are most concerned about the youth in Serbia. The main prizes went to one of the oldest and to one of the youngest municipalities in Serbia – to Ivanjica, for its overall contribution to the improved position of young people in the local community, and to Presevo, for the provided public space.

Burnt poles in Presevo, 120 households without electricity

Presevo – The fire near the villages of Bustranje, Svinjiste and Ljanik, which are situated in the municipality of Presevo, burned down eight poles, due to which about 120 households have been without electricity for a week. The defect could be rectified over the next two to three days, said Vladan Veljkovic, the head of the Electric Power Dispatching Department of the Vranje Electric Power Distribution Company.

Due to high daily temperatures and a lack of rainfall in the past month, the fruit grown in the Jablanica district is significantly reduced, while its purchase price is very low.

New Fires in South Serbia

Drakce Stanojkovic, Head of the Department for Emergency Situations, said that the previous morning fire had once again engulfed "the surroundings of the Serbian villages of Svinjiste and Ljanik, which are situated five to seven kilometers east of Presevo, near the border with Macedonia, as well as the approach to the Albanian village of Oraovica, which is situated a kilometer north of Presevo”.
