Last Friday, Minister Milan Markovic, the President of the Coordination Body, paid a visit to the village of Levosoje, which is situated in the municipality of Bujanovac. He firstly talked with members of the agricultural cooperative “Jug Levosoje”, which is an example of multi-ethnicity and which proves that co-operation between Albanians and Serbs is possible. Members of this agricultural cooperative received the funds through the Coordination Body’s open competition for repairing their agricultural machines and purchasing the seeds for spring planting.

A summer league basketball match between BSK Junior-Elita (from Bujanovac) and KK Jug (from Vranje) was held on Friday. At the end of February 2010, BSK Junior-Elita signed a multiethnic agreement on cooperation of the two clubs, while Minister Milan Markovic and the mayor of Bujanovac Saip Kamberi were guarantors of the agreement. Albanian, Serbian and Roma basketball players are going to play together for BSK Junior-Elita for the first time this year.

Minister Milan Markovic, the President of the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, in Bujanovac On Friday, May 28, 2010, Minister Milan Markovic will pay a visit to the municipality of Bujanovac. As the President of the Coordination Body for South Serbia, he will firstly visit the village of Levosoje. He is going to talk with members of the “Jug Levosoje” farm co-operative, the spring planting of which is funded by the Coordination Body. Minister Markovic will, thereafter, visit the “Vuk Karadzic” elementary school in Levosoje, which the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government assists with developing a gym construction project.

Representatives of “Srpska banka” handed over savings deposits to scholars of the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, the value of which is over 800,000 dinars.

LOZNICA – Secondary school students from Presevo and Bujanovac performed a multiethnic play “You and I are We” at the 39th. “Vukov sabor”.  Fourteen secondary school students performed “a teenage pop show in four languages” and showed that young Serbs, Albanians and Roma can cooperate closely. Aleksandar Lazic, the producer of the play, says that a good story was made by Serbs, Albanians and Roma, who became a genuine team after having had a few rehearsals.

On the occasion of the Day of the Municipality of Medvedja, a golden plaque was, yesterday, presented to Milan Markovic, the President of the Coordination Body and Minister for Public Administration and Local Self-Government, for his merits in development of this southern Serbian municipality.

The National Employment Office (NEO) stated yesterday that it had approved 355 projects within public works for 2010, owing to which 5,620 persons would get employed. It was also stated that 700 million RSD were earmarked for those projects from this year’s budget of the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development. 

Presevo – On the occasion of the International Day of  Parentless Children, the „International Human Center“ civil society organization from Presevo held a session on the premises of the Presevo „Abdulah Krasnica“ community center. The said organization used this opportunity to mark the fifth anniversary of its existence and operation.

A propos of a fifty years’ long existence and operation of the Faculty of Law in Nis, a formal assembly to mark the event was held at the Faculty of Law’s amphitheatre on May 18, 2010. Present at the formal assembly were representatives of many faculties and universities from both the country and abroad, as well as from judicial institutions and local self-governments. Also attending the assembly were numerous friends of the Faculty of Law and followers of the science of the law.

Loznica – The 39th. Students’ “Vukov sabor” is going to be organized in Trsic and Loznica from May 19 to 23, 2010, by the Loznica-based community center “Vuk Karadzic”. On the opening day of the event, Momir Nikolic, the world youth’s champion in playing the accordion, is going to have a soloist concert at the “Vuk Karadzic” community center. Children from Bujanovac and Presevo will also take part in the 39 th. Students’ “Vukov sabor” by performing the “You and I are We” play. A parade of the event’s participants along the street of Loznica, concerts given by folklore ensembles and fine arts workshops will be organized this year, like they were organized in the past.
