FIVE MILLION EUR FOR SOUTH SERBIA

Under the Agreement on Development of Cooperation between the Governments of the Republic of Serbia and the Kingdom of Denmark, which was on Friday signed by Diana Dragutinovic, Serbia’s Minister of Finance, and Mete Kjuel Nielsen, the Danish Ambassador to Serbia,  the Kingdom of Denmark is going to donate to our country five million euros, which are assigned for the purpose of developing agriculture in South Serbia or in the territory of the Jablanica, Nis, Pcinj and Toplica Districts. This is the first project to be implemented pursuant to the said agreement, by which the government of the Kingdom of Denmark is obliged to provide to the government of the Republic of Serbia financial assistance, material resources and technical assistance in the form of the training personnel, as well as the possibility of receiving scholarships for studying in Denmark or in other countries. The said agreement was signed for a five-year period, and upon its expiry, it shall be automatically renewed for another five-year periods. This agreement is the basis for all further “special agreements”, which will refer to development of cooperation between Serbia and Denmark.
