Zoran Stankovic, President of the Coordination Body for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, will meet today with Verica Kalanovic, Minister of Regional Development and Local Self-government, and with the Mayor of Presevo, Ragmi Mustafa, at the relevant ministry to intensify cooperation and discuss the projects and economic development of that area.

"This will be a good opportunity to convince everyone in the care of the state towards that region and in the growing cooperation between the local and central government. Without such cooperation and active participation of the state in resolving the problems of the residents of these municipalities, there is no recovery or economic development, "said Mr. Stankovic.

He explained that the planned construction of an industrial zone in Presevo, which had been discussed earlier with representatives of the local self-government, was among the topics to be covered at the meeting. Mr. Stankovic also said that he was dedicated to the economic recovery of the three municipalities, adding that the problems that plagued Presevo were the same as those that plagued other municipalities and residents in Serbia.

“Minister Kalanovic said that cooperation in the planning of the industrial zone would be intensified since that was a very attractive location owing to the proximity of Corridor 10 on one side and the railway on the other one, "said Mr. Stankovic, adding that he was pleased that things were moving in the right direction.

Things have to be solved systemically and with the full support of civil authorities and respect for the law. That is the only way of having a safe and secure area in which many will want to invest, said Mr. Stankovic.
