"YOUR POINT OF VIEW" - WORKSHOP ON YOUTH ENGAGEMENT THROUGH MOBILE JOURNALISM

UNICEF Serbia is organizing a workshop on the use of mobile journalism to encourage young people to share their views and opinions on sustainable development goals and the community. The workshop will be held on March 30, 2019 in Belgrade. The exact location of the workshop will be announced later.

The workshop will be hosted by young journalist and activist Jusuf Omar, the initiator of the Hashtag Our Stories initiative. The young people will be familiarized with the goals of sustainable development and the basic principles of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. The workshop will be based on the use of innovative methods, such as the use of smartphones for creating images, audio and video clips.

Young people will be able to express their views on the needs of the community and be encouraged to talk to their male and female peers about the issues that concern them.

The opinions of the youth will be adopted as a source of information for the Voluntary National Report for Serbia on the progress towards the goals of sustainable development, which is a unique opportunity to put to the forefront the issues concerning children, adolescents and young people.

UNICEF calls on young people who are from 15 to 24 years old to apply for the workshop, who participate actively in society and who are interested in the role of young people in society, as well as those who come from different municipalities in Serbia and who have mastered the basics of English. Young people coming from vulnerable groups are encouraged to apply.

UNICEF will cover the costs of participation and transportation for all participants outside of Belgrade, as well as those of refreshments during the workshop.
