YOUNG HEROES OF SERBIA ARE SOUGHT!

Each period has its heroes. We are looking for young heroes, the initiators of positive changes, young people who, in spite of everything and everyone, work hard on a daily basis, as well as learn, create, inspire others and struggle to change their lives and their environment for the better.

The leading Serbian brands, which include EXIT, the officially named best major European festival in 2013, and NIS, the most successful company in Serbia, announced for the first time the Young Heroes competition - recognition of the young heroes of Serbia in the field of education/ science, entrepreneurship, social activism, culture/arts and creative industries.

There are a lot of young heroes in Serbia who create in silence and achieve great success, win medals at international scientific competitions, improve their local communities, create superb works of art, undertake creative endeavors and set up successful companies. Our desire is to get them out of anonymity, introduce them to the public and promote them as rising stars, so that they could become an inspiration, pride and role models to their peers and to all of us. Only through the promotion of positive role models can we develop a new generation of the young that will initiate changes and create a society based on knowledge and creativity. We want those young heroes to be the ambassadors of all of us and to show what the future will be like through their personal examples.

Fifteen candidates (three best in each area) for receiving the Youth Hero recognition will be announced in December. They will be selected by a jury composed of representatives of EXIT, NIS and respected individuals from the fields of education/science, entrepreneurship, social activism, culture/arts and creative industries. The jury will evaluate the applications according to the following formula: 50% of the points for the thus-far achieved success in one of the five areas presented in the application form; the candidate’s positive influence on his/her peers – 35 % of the points; the candidate’s plans for the future development – 15% of the points.

The competition is open until November 23, 2015.

Entitled to apply are all young people with the citizenship of Serbia or those residing in the territory of the Republic of Serbia that are 15 to 30 years old and that have won prizes for special achievements, as well as awards and recognitions in the fields of education/science, entrepreneurship, social activism, culture/arts and creative industries. The candidate may be proposed by an organization, another person or may apply in person by e-mailing a filled-in application form and photo-copies of the documents confirming the allegations from the application form, such as diplomas and certificates of education, recognitions and awards, newspaper articles etc.

The application forms should be mailed to exitfoundation@exitfest.org by November 23, 2015, at the latest.
