“YOU AND I ARE WE” PLAY ON TOUR OF SLOVENIA

Teenagers from Presevo  and  Bujanovac,  who  are the main  actors of  a multiethnic theatre performance “You and I are We”,  which is financed by  the Coordination Body of the Government of the  Republic of  Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, are the guests  of  the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of  Defense of  the  Republic of  Slovenia.   

On Thursday, November 25, 2010, students of the “Ledina” grammar school accorded a warm welcome to their fellow students from Bujanovac and Presevo, by having received them with a thunderous applause.  Following the performance, secondary school students from South Serbia and the Slovenian grammar school students had a chance to associate with and get to know one another.

His  Excellency  Predrag Filipov,  Ambassador of the  Republic of  Serbia  to  Slovenia,  and representatives of the  Coordination Body of  the Government of  the Republic of  Serbia  for  the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, attended the premiere of the  play in Slovenia.

Prior to the premiere of the play, the young from South Serbia visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, where they were received by Mr. Mitja Strukelj, Ambassador and Coordinator for the Western Balkans.  While associating with the children,  Mr. Strukelj wanted to learn about the experiences they had gained during their work on development of the play.   

On Friday, November 26, 2010, the young from Presevo and Bujanovac were also guests of the Ministry of Defense, where they were received by Ljubica Jelusic. On the very same day, the “You and I are We” play was once again performed at the “Vic” grammar school in Ljubljana.

The hosts of the children from South  Serbia, which are the  Ministry of  Foreign Affairs  and the Ministry of Defense, organized a  tourist part of  the program for the  young guests, which included a visit to and familiarization  with  the  landmarks  of Ljubljana,  as well  as  visits to  Bled, Kranj and Postojina.
