“YOU AND I ARE WE” PLAY ON TOUR OF SLOVENIA
Teenagers from Presevo and Bujanovac, who are the main actors of a multiethnic theatre performance “You and I are We”, which is financed by the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, are the guests of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Slovenia.
On Thursday, November 25, 2010, students of the “Ledina” grammar school accorded a warm welcome to their fellow students from Bujanovac and Presevo, by having received them with a thunderous applause. Following the performance, secondary school students from South Serbia and the Slovenian grammar school students had a chance to associate with and get to know one another.
His Excellency Predrag Filipov, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Slovenia, and representatives of the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, attended the premiere of the play in Slovenia.
Prior to the premiere of the play, the young from South Serbia visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, where they were received by Mr. Mitja Strukelj, Ambassador and Coordinator for the Western Balkans. While associating with the children, Mr. Strukelj wanted to learn about the experiences they had gained during their work on development of the play.
On Friday, November 26, 2010, the young from Presevo and Bujanovac were also guests of the Ministry of Defense, where they were received by Ljubica Jelusic. On the very same day, the “You and I are We” play was once again performed at the “Vic” grammar school in Ljubljana.
The hosts of the children from South Serbia, which are the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defense, organized a tourist part of the program for the young guests, which included a visit to and familiarization with the landmarks of Ljubljana, as well as visits to Bled, Kranj and Postojina.
