WOODEN BOW TIES FROM MEDVEDJA “TRAVEL” TO ALL PARTS OF THE WORLD

12. March 2021.

Меdvedja - In 2014, the Stojanović family from Medvedja started the production of wooden fashion details. They make around a thousand ecological, wooden bow ties every month, which they sell all over the world. Thanks to the new production equipment, they are planning to expand their production program.

When Nemanja designed and made by hand a wooden bow tie for his birthday seven years ago, he had no idea that the fashion detail would become very popular on the market. As orders arrived from around the world via the Internet, Nemanja's unusual idea slowly grew into a family business.

Nemanja is a senior anesthetist by profession, and an artist at heart who lives and works on the Belgrade-Medvedja route.

“Only with work, sacrifice, patience and, of course, with the greatest support and help provided by my dad, I managed to realize my dreams. Tens of thousands of wooden accessories have “traveled” from our workshop, which are still worn all over the world, "says designer Nemanja Stojanovic.

Father Goran, an electrical engineer, and younger brother Jovan, who has a degree obtained from the two-year post-secondary business school, quickly developed affinity with wood.

They procured modern machines with the help of the Center for the Development of Jablanica and Pcinj Districts and the Development Agency of Serbia. Since last year, in addition to fashion details, they have also been making decorative boxes, watches, coat racks, magnets and wooden bags.

“Although it is quite a hard job, one can earn a good living.  We need to put into operation another machine, by which we will make wooden icons and wood-carved objects ", says Nemanja's brother Jovan.

They are creative, diligent and hardworking. According to the Stojanovićs, there is no time-out from work. The production program will soon be completed with wooden souvenirs, which will go from Medvedja to the spas around the country.
