WEARING MASKS OUTDOORS WILL SOON BECOME OBLIGATORY

Presevo, Bujanovac, Меdvedja - Wearing protective masks outdoors when we get in touch with other people will soon become obligatory, said immunologist Srdja Jankovic.

He said on the TV Prva channel that there was no discussion at all that a mask was necessary indoors, and that physical distance and masks were the backbone of the prevention of infection and of dying from the COVID 19 disease.

When asked about the research of the American Center for Control and Prevention of Infectious Diseases, according to which it was unnecessary to wear masks, Dr. Jankovic said that the interpretation was not quite correct.

“When we look at what is really written in the Center’s materials, we realize that it was not claimed anywhere that we should not wear masks. Of course, the analysis of when and how much the masks protect us is complex", said Dr. Jankovic, who is also a member of the Crisis Staff for the suppression of the coronavirus.

He emphasized that it was important that we all wear masks because, as he says, the partial protection that masks ensure is much better than no protection at all.

He stated that studies in several countries had shown that the probability of infection dropped to only a few per cent in the places where everyone wore masks.
