WASTE WATER FROM THE “LECE” MINE "SPILLED INTO THE JABLANICA RIVER

Medvedja - Part of waste water from the flotation of the “Lece” mine near Medvedja spilled       into the Jablanica River when a wall, which is located right next to the mine works, gave in  along a five-meter length.    

The responsible teams of the municipality of Medvedja and the miners responded immediately by putting soil on the spillage, thereby securing the wall. 

The Mayor of Medvedja, Nebojsa Arsic, said that the situation was under control and that there was no risk of a major environmental disaster.

Water samples were taken from the Jablanica River, while the results of the analysis are expected in the coming days.
