WAITING FOR THE APPROVAL OF FINANCIAL RESOURCES FOR RAILWAY LINES IN THE SOUTHERN PART OF THE COUNTRY

Belgrade, Presevo – Zorana Mihajlovic, the Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, talked with Dubravka Negre, the Director of the of the European Investment Bank’s (EIB) Office for the Western Balkans, about the current projects that are implemented with the support of the EIB, as well as about the new cycle of investments in the sphere of infrastructure in Serbia.

Representatives of the EIB stated that they expected the final approval for the grants for the project Nis - Presevo - state border railway line, as well as for preparation of the project for the construction of the railway line that bypasses Nis, which is part of the project of reconstruction and modernization of the Nis-Dimitrovgrad railway line.

Minister Mihajlovic familiarized representatives of the EIB with the new projects in the field of road infrastructure, as well as with the plans for continued modernization of railways in the country, including the Belgrade-Nis and Nis-Presevo railway lines on Corridor 10, or the Belgrade-Bar railway line on Corridor 11.

Ms. Negre said that the European Investment Bank was satisfied with the cooperation with the government of the Republic of Serbia and that it was interested in continuing the cooperation on the new projects that are scheduled to be implemented in the coming period.
