TRADITIONAL GATHERINGS OF PEOPLE, ORGANIZED BY THE MUNICIPALITY OF MEDVEDJA, STARTED

Medvedja - In the spirit of tradition and preservation of the immaterial cultural heritage, songs and dances of the residents of Gornja Jablanica, the Tourist Organization of Medvedja began organizing "sessions" (gatherings), which are traditional gatherings of people of this region.

On February 2 and 3, these sessions were held on the premises of primary schools in Sijarinska Spa and the village of Petrilje, while the residents of those local communities took them with great pleasure. The session held in Sijarinska Spa was attended by around 80 people, while the one held at the school in the village of Petrilje was attended by over one hundred villagers

The present villagers were, apart from representatives of the Tourist Organization of Medvedja, greeted by Nebojsa Arsic, the Mayor of Medvedja. He thanked the organizers and participants in the program, who were determined to save the gatherings of people of that region from oblivion.

The “sessions" will also be held in Ravna Spa and the village of Tulare, on the premises of primary schools in those places, on February 9 and 10.
