TIDYING UP OF MEDVEDJA AND ITS SURROUNDINGS UNDERWAY

Medvedja – The cleaning of the river bed and second-order waterways is underway in the municipality of Medvedja. Nebojsa Arsic, the Mayor of Medvedja, said that two million dinars had been earmarked in the municipal budget for that purpose.

In Medvedja itself, the riverbed of the Lapastica River is being cleaned, as well as other waterways, for the purpose of preventing the risk of flooding. The works are done by the “Obnova” public utility company from Medvedja. All waterways in the territory of the municipality that might cause problems during heavy rains will also be cleaned.

“These activities have been undertaken as part of a comprehensive campaign for tidying up Medvedja and its surrounding area. Apart from cleaning the waterways, we are working on fixing up the belvedere, where we’ll install public lighting, put up park benches and build walkways, as well as connect it with the complex around the Orthodox Church,” said Mayor Arsic. He also said that works on renovating streets and pavements in Medvedja were being done.
