THREE MORE SECTIONS OF THE SERBIAN RAILWAY TO BE OVERHAULED

Belgrade - The "Infrastructure of the Serbian Railways" company and the Russia "RZD International” company will, today, sign a contract on the overhaul of three sections of the southern part of Corridor 10, the value of which is 26.4 million dollars, said the Serbian Railways.   

As it was said in the statement, as part of the modernization project, the reconstruction of 46 kilometers of railway tracks is planned, which will be funded from the Russian state loan of 800 million dollars.

The beginning of works on the Vranje Spa – Ristovac section (17.7 kilometers) of the railway and on the Bujanovac –Bukarevac one (13.7 kilometers) is scheduled for the first quarter of 2016, while the works on the Vinarci-Djordjevo one (15 kilometers) will start in the third quarter of 2016.

The lower and upper railway lines will be fully replaced, while the signaling and telecommunications systems will be modernized, as well as the contact system.

The contract signing will be attended by the Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure of Serbia, Zorana Mihajlovic, and by the new President of the Russian Railways Oleg Belozjorov.
