ТHIRD ЕXHIBITION ОF COWS OF SIMMENTAL BREED ON SATURDAY

Bujanovac – The veterinary station of Bujanovac is, for the third year in a row, organizing an exhibition of cows of Simmental breed, which is a kind of gathering of herders from the municipality of Bujanovac.

The exhibition will be held at the Bujanovac city stadium, while Aleksandar Stevanovic, a doctor of veterinary medicine, said that everything was ready for that important event for the municipality, given that 70 percent of the population of that area was engaged in agriculture and earned a living from it.

“Three categories of cows will be evaluated, heifers, cows that had their first calves and the already registered cows, while 25 cows will participate in each category. A commission consisting of experts from the Institute for Cattle Breeding from Belgrade, the Cattle-Veterinary Center from Velika Plana and the Regional Registration Office will be in charge of evaluating the cattle, while the interest of the cattle-breeders, as in the the previous two years, is tremendous, "Mr. Stevanovic said.

Cash prizes and prizes given by the Insemination Center will be provided to the owners of best cattle. The exhibition will be visited by guests from the Ministry of Agriculture, while the participation of sheep and goat breeders, who are numerous in the Bujanovac area, is planned for the next year.

The prize fund of 400,000 dinars was provided by the local self-government, while Mr. Stevanovic said that per diem allowances were ensured for cattle owners.
