THE SITUATION IN VRANJE IS WORRYING, A LARGE NUMBER OF PATIENTS WITH PNEUMONIA

Vranje – In five days, 66 new cases positive for the corona virus were recorded in the Pcinj district, of which 64 were from the territory of the City of Vranje, while epidemiologist Sladjan Stankovic said that the epidemiological situation was unfavorable and that the virus was spreading quickly.

Dr. Stankovic said for the Tanjug news agency that of the samples taken on June 22 and 23, 19 people tested positive for the corona virus, of which 18 were from Vranje and one from Bujanovac.

When it comes to the clinical picture of the latest patients, he states that there is a large number of patients with pneumonia, who are in a stable condition and whose temperature is 38 degrees C.

“The situation is unfavorable, there is a rapid spread of the virus, and its intensity is significant," Dr. Stankovic underscored, adding that it was necessary for citizens to strictly respect a one-meter distance indoors, as well as to wear masks. These measures apply to all categories of the population, and especially to young people.

According to him, there is a hot spot in the area of the city of Vranje, and people do not fall ill only in factories, which was previously the case.

There are now fewer sick people in the factories and more sick people within families. There are also cases for which we have not been able to determine how they were caused, "Dr. Stankovic says.

The new patients are mostly employees in their fifties and sixties, Dr. Stankovic says, adding that they are those who work in companies, institutions and shops or those who move aroundt and are in contact with people a lot, and who then bring the virus to their families.
