THE COORDINATION BODY’S PRESIDENT PLAYED HOST TO THE TURKISH AMBASSADOR

Zoran Stankovic, the President of the Coordination Body for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, played host at the Coordination Body’s Office in Bujanovac to Kemal Bozay, Turkey's ambassador to Serbia.

"The stay of ambassador Bozay and the discussions we have had in Belgrade, and which we continued here in Bujanovac, confirmed our efforts to provide the opportunities for a better quality of life of the people living in these municipalities. We are pleased that the Turkish government will continue to invest in education, health-care and economic development of these municipalities”, said Mr. Stankovic.

The President of the Coordination Body noted that it had been agreed that all the activities related to education would continue, and in that sense it was discussed that a number of Serbian students from these municipalities would receive scholarships to the prestigious universities in Turkey.

Mr. Stankovic said that Turkey was interested in helping with the purchase of the equipment for the maternity hospital in Presevo, and that it was agreed that a delegation of Turkish businessmen would visit the three municipalities.

Kemal Bozay, Turkey's ambassador to Serbia, expressed his country's willingness to provide  economic assistance to the residents of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja.

"Turkey is ready to economically help the life of the citizens of the three municipalities. We shall focus our assistance on education, health-care and economic investments, which will help create jobs", said Ambassador Bozay.

The Turkish Ambassador stressed that Turkish companies were interested in finding partners in the region, with whom they would jointly invest and create new jobs.

Following the meeting, Mr. Stankovic expressed satisfaction with the talks with the Turkish ambassador Bozay, to whom he had given as a gift a book of poems entitled "The Leaves on the Water", the author of which is Enes Halilovic. The book was translated into Turkish.
