THE ARMY CALLS ON ALL YOUNG MEN OF AGE TO GET REGISTERED IN THE MILITARY RECORDS

24. January 2020.

The Ministry of Defense has sent an invitation for entry into the military records of persons who are coming of age this year, young men born in 2002, as well as of young men that are older than them but who have not yet been entered into the military records.

"Please note that entry into the military records does not mean calling for military service, but is an obligation set by the Law on Military, Work and Material Obligation," the Ministry of Defense said in a statement.

Male persons should regulate this legal obligation by reporting to the competent Center of the Ministry of Defense for Local Self-Governments. They need to bring an ID with them or, if the person does not possess it, another public identity document from which they can be identified.

Entry into the military records can be done every working day from 9am to 3pm, and the general invitation for entry into the military records lasts until February 28, after which individual invitations will be sent to all those who did not respond to the first invitation.

Young men staying abroad meet their legal obligation at the competent diplomatic and consular mission of the Republic of Serbia in the country in which they are staying. They need to bring a valid travel document with them.

More detailed information on entry into the military records is available on the website of the Ministry of Defense (part of the Defense Obligation), on
