THE 14 TH. KARATE TOURNAMENT "JABLANICA OPEN 2018" HELD IN MEDVEDJA

Medvedja - 15 clubs with around 200 competitors took part in the 14 th. karate tournament "Jablanica Open 2018" in Medvedja. The participants in the tournament were the children born from 2002 onwards or juniors, who competed in karate fighting individually and as teams.

Apart from visitors from Macedonia and Bulgaria, the tournament was attended by teams from Medvedja, Vlasotince, Bojnik, Lebane, Leskovac, Vranje, Bujanovac, Bosilegrad and Pukovac.

The tournament was opened by Nebojsa Arsic, the Mayor of Medvedja, who wished success and good placement in the competition to all the participants.  

“Medvedja is very proud to host such an event. Karate is a sport that brings most trophies to Medvedja. Boys and girls from the “Jablanica” karate club bring us medals both from national and international competitions. Thanks to all of you who came to Medvedja to support this tournament, " Mayor Arsic said.

He also said that the local self-government would continue supporting all events related to sports in Medvedja, since one of its goals was to turn children and young people to sports and recreation activities, and thus get them off the streets.  

The tournament was organized by the Sports Association of Medvedja, in cooperation with the local self-government and the “Jablanica” karate club from Medvedja.
