TECHNICAL IMPROVEMENTS IN KEEPING SINGLE ELECTORAL LIST IN BUJANOVAC AND PRESEVO

The Assistant Minister of Justice and Public Administration, Igor Todoroski, and the Head of the Legal Affairs Department, Marina Drazic, visited the municipalities of Presevo and Bujanovac, where they discussed with the Mayors of the two municipalities the functioning of the single electoral register, in order to ensure effective voting rights.

The meeting was, in addition to the Mayors, attended by Heads of the municipal administration in charge of organizing the work related to entering the data into and maintaining the single electoral roll. It was agree to intensify the cooperation of the municipal administration with the local registry offices in the coming period in order to verify the technical accuracy of data on the citizens registered in the electoral roll. 

“The municipalities of Presevo and Bujanovac have, so far, significantly improved the quality of the data on voters, but it is necessary to ensure this for all the citizens who are enrolled in the single electoral list, "said Deputy Minister of Justice and Public Administration Igor Todoroski.    

The Mayor of Presevo, Ragmi Mustafa, and the Mayor Bujanovac, Nagip Arifi, as always,  showed interest in and willingness to working on improving the quality of data in the single electoral roll.

The meeting was held in order to meet the recommendations of the Coordination Body for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja and representatives of the OSCE Mission to Serbia, so that the technical part of keeping the single electoral roll could be improved in accordance with the law and members of national minorities could more easily exercise their voting rights.
