TALKS THAT HAVE HOPE

11. October 2017.

Bujanovac, Belgrade – Saip Kamberi, the Mayor of Bujanovac, led a delegation of the municipality of Bujanovac that attended the Serbia-Turkey Business Forum at the Hyatt Hotel in Belgrade.

Mayor Kamberi wrote on his Facebook page that the initial contacts with Turkish businessmen were a step made towards economic development and potential investments in the future.

“Turkish businessmen have perceived South Serbia as a suitable place for investments for a long time. Bujanovac seeks to concretize the cooperation with Turkish businessmen, which is aimed at creating new jobs, "Mayor Kamberi said.

The Mayor of Bujanovac said that apart from President Erdogan, the Serbia-Turkey Business Forum was attended by over 140 Turkish businessmen.

Rahim Salihi, the Chief of Staff of the Bujanovac Mayor’s Office, said that impressions of the  forum were good and that they provided hope:

“Especially considering that we spoke with three businessmen who have already made investments in South Serbia, more precisely in Nis, Leskovac and Vladicin Han. We exchanged contacts with them and provided them with information on the potential of Bujanovac, "Mr. Salihi said.

Mr. Salihi also said that Turkish investors were interested in South Serbia a great deal, primarily because of Corridor 10 and the fact that that part of Serbia was closer to them than the northern part of the country.

“Turks perceive all of this strategically, while we now need the support of the Government of Serbia, primarily with the closed factories, or factory halls, which are owned by the state, "Mr. Salihi pointed out.
