SIGNING UP FOR THE FIRST 16,000 DINARS BEGINS

The signing up of employers for receiving the March half of the minimum wages in the amount of around 16,000 dinars starts today and will last until the end of the month, while that money will be paid on April 8.

Employers will sign up for this type of financial assistance every month, or both in April and May, by filling in a simple form on the Tax Administration’s portal.

Namely, in order to receive that type of financial assistance from the state, companies do not have the right to dismiss more than 10 percent of their employees three months after the last payment. Also, those who take the financial aid are not entitled to dividend payment.

The payment of aid of three times half of the minimum wages refers to entrepreneurs, micro, small, medium-sized and large companies. This support practically "covers" the salaries for March, April and May, and companies will receive a total of about 48,000 dinars per worker, or three times about 16,000 dinars, which is half of the minimum wage in Serbia.

It was earlier said that a total of about 1.4 million workers would receive financial support of half the minimum wage, of whom 300,000 people are employed in large companies.

This financial assistance is paid as part of the third aid package.

The Government of the Republic of Serbia adopted this package of measures to help the economy and citizens on February 11, whereas it is worth 249.4 billion dinars.
