SECOND "STATEHOOD DAY’S CHESSBOARD TOURNAMENT BUJANOVAC 2018"

Bujanovac – The second "Statehood Day’s Chessboard Tournament Bujanovac 2018" will be held at the “Saint Sava” secondary school in Bujanovac, at 11 am on February 18.

The tournament is organized by the Bujanovac chess club "Jug", in cooperation with the "Saint Sava" school and under the auspices of the municipality of Bujanovac.

Contestants may sign up for the event half an hour before the beginning of the competition at the latest, but the organizers are asking them to do so at least a day earlier.

Miroslav Nisic, the President of the "Jug" chess club, says that the tournament will be played in accordance with the Swiss system of 9 chess game rounds and in compliance with the FIDE’s rules for fast chess games.

“The tournament is open in character and all interested chess players without categories, titles and regardless of the city where they live can sign up for it. There is no fee for participating in it. The rate of chess playing is 10 minutes per player. Each participant should bring a valid chess clock and a standard chess set. The first three most successful competitors will be awarded with chess sets. In addition, special prizes will be awarded to the best placed female junior chess player, male junior chess player and veteran chess player, as well as to the most successful unrewarded junior chess player from Bujanovac. Each winner of the prize will receive a certificate, too "Mr. Nisic said.
