SCHOOL SPORTS-GROUND AND SCHOOL KITCHEN OPENED IN THE VILLAGE OF LEVOSOJE, IN THE BUJANOVAC MUNICIPALITY

7. September 2010.

On Monday, September 6, 2010, Minister Milan Markovic, President of the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja opened the sports - ground and kitchen at the “Vuk Karadzic” elementary school in the village of Levosoje, which is situated in the municipality of Bujanovac. The funds for the construction of the sports - ground were provided by “Telekom”, while the kitchen was furnished by the Public Enterprise of PTT (PE PTT) Traffic Serbia.

"Better days are coming for Levosoje. We are planning to make new investments in this village as early as next year. Our goal is to make as many people as possible stay to live and work here. We also wish that this school had as many students as possible and I hope that we will together succeed at doing it,” Minister Markovic said.

Saip Kamberi, President of the Municipality of Bujanovac, said for the press that the opening of the sports- ground was “a proof that the Coordination Body, along with the local self-government and other republican institutions, takes care of the education–related matters in this municipality.”
"I believe that we shall implement this project, as well as other similar ones, in the future and thereby manage to improve the infrastructure in our municipality,” Mr. Kamberi said.

Milica Markovic, PR Manager of “Telekom”, reiterated that the said company had been financially supporting education investment projects for years. She pointed out that support to education was provided on several planes, whereas the key support was given to school infrastructure projects, providing the Internet connection, providing classrooms with PCs, as well as to giving financial assistance to talented schoolchildren.

Dragan Tomic, Director of the “Vuk Karadzic” elementary school, said that the sports - ground and the kitchen were both “capital projects” for the school. He pointed out that 1.3 million dinars were necessary to cover the costs of building the sports - ground.

As it was underscored, residents of this small local community in South Serbia expected from the government to continue investing in it as much as it can, especially towards development of economic preconditions for the existence of this village, which is still without the sewage system.

It is especially important to  give an economic boost to local companies, such as to the “Feldspat” Company, which produces quartz send, “Prolece”, which manufactures metal-made furniture, as well as to the “Jugokop” butchery, which has large plots of land.
