RECONSTRUCTION OF THE BUJANOVAC COURT WAITING FOR DONORS

3. November 2017.

Bujanovac – The project documentation for reconstructing the building of the Basic Court in Bujanovac, which was done in 2015, is still waiting for potential donors, so that a study on increasing the usable space and on enhancing the functionality of the existing building could be implemented.

According to Bojan Milenkovic, the President of the Court, the estimated value of the works on reconstructing the Bujanovac “home of justice” is about 60 million dinars.

“The project envisages ten courtrooms on the ground floor, given that two courtrooms were previously converted into offices.  Due to lack of space, trails are now conducted in the offices. With the planned additions, provided any donors turn up, we would get the offices for all judges and judicial assistants, as well as the premises for trainees. A library that has professional books and fifteen offices are planned to be built in the existing attic of the building. I think that Bujanovac, as a municipality, deserves to have such a representative building, "Mr. Milenkovic said.

The Basic Court in Bujanovac has jurisdiction over the municipalities of Bujanovac and Presevo, where the court’s personnel come from.

In addition to the Basic Court, the Magistrates Court Section and the Basic Prosecution Unit Vranje are located in the building.
