PUMPS ARE BLAMED FOR FLOODS IN THE CENTER OF BUJANOVAC

Bujanovac – There will be no more floods and sewage spills in the center of Bujanovac, Ruzdi Halili, the Director of the PE "Komunalac", promised to the citizens, after another flood in the center of Bujanovac caused by rain.

The utility company, he said, was working intensively on the replacement of faulty sewage pumps, which were causing the problems.

As for yesterday's flood near the Music School and the usual flood scenes after each heavy rain, Mr. Halili says that the workers of "Komunalac" reacted immediately.

“Last night’s flood was caused by a drain clogged due to the reconstruction works that were taking place there. The drain has been cleaned and there will be no more floods", Mr.Halili says.

When asked if at that moment, when the layer of asphalt on that stretch had already been removed, was the time for the issue to be permanently resolved, Mr. Halili said that there was no need for interventions on the sewerage system.

“Atmospheric water in the center of the city flows into the sewage and it has been like that for years, but that is not a problem, but the faulty pumps, which cause spills, are. We started installing the new pumps, but due to the huge amount of water, more time is needed, "he said.

He pointed out that he had found a bad situation in "Komunalac" and that it took time to correct all the mistakes of the previous management, adding that that the sewerage was at the top of the list of priorities.
