PUBLIC WELFARE IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF BUJANOVAC

Bujanovac – According to the information received from Nijazi Ahmeti, the Director of the Welfare Office in Bujanovac, 833 families from the municipality receive public welfare.

“According to the latest data from this August, 833 families receive public welfare, while the amount of public welfare varies from case to case. The monthly amount ranges from eight to 26 thousand dinars, while the average amount is about 17 thousand dinars per month, "said Mr. Ahmeti.  

He also said that priority in receiving public welfare was given to families with the elderly, children and those without any income, and that the decision on getting public welfare was reached by the expert team of the Welfare Office, which completed the documentation and checked things in the field.

Mr. Ahmeti stated that persons with disabilities also received funds from the budget of the Republic of Serbia.

“According to the data of August 2015, 302 people from the Bujanovac municipality receive compensation for the support and care provided by another person, whereas the monthly amount of the compensation depends on the degree of disability and ranges from 10 to 26 thousand dinars per month, "said the Director of the Welfare Office in Bujanovac.  

Apart from the above categories of persons, the families that care for parentless children, of which there are currently nine in Bujanovac, also receive financial assistance from the Welfare Office in Bujanovac. 

The operation of the Welfare Office is funded by the Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veterans’ and Social Issues of the Republic of Serbia, while the Bujanovac municipality allocates funds for short-term financial assistance and material costs.
