PUBLIC CALL TO AWARD GRANTS FOR CO-FINANCING MEASURES OF POPULATION POLICY OF LOCAL SELF-GOVERNMENTAL UNITS (LSU) IN 2020 (DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 13, 2020)

The Office of the Minister without a portfolio in charge of demography and population policy has launched a public call for grants to local self-governmental units for co-financing population policy measures in 2020.

The purpose of the program is to support the implementation of population policy measures at the local level. The total funds provided for this call are 650,000,000 dinars.

The purpose of the funds:

1) To mitigate the economic cost of raising a child;

2) Reconciling work and parenting;

3) Lowering the psychological cost of parenting;

4) Preserving and improving reproductive health;

5) Solving the infertility problem;

6) The path to healthy motherhood;

7) Education in the field of population policy;

8) Activation of local self-governments.

The maximum amount of the grant is up to 85% of the total value, regardless of whether LSU applies alone or in partnership, namely:

• In case of application by the City: up to 30,000,000 dinars

• In case of application by the Municipality: 15,000,000 dinars

Minimum co-financing is 15%.

Project implementation period: LСUs are obliged to submit a report on the implemented project by December 15, 2020 at the latest.

Who can apply: LSU independently or several LSUs from the same region.*

* The region of Vojvodina, the region of Sumadija and Western Serbia, the region of Southern and Eastern Serbia.

Note: The prerequisite for applying is that the LSU has an established body that implements population policy measures or has a person in charge of implementing population policy measures.
