PROJECT OF MINORITY LEADERS IN SOUTH SERBIA AND SANDZAK

6. April 2016.

Description: https://www.google.com/images/cleardot.gifAs part of the project “New Generations of Young People Facing the New Challenges - the Minority Leaders in South Serbia and Sandzak", young Albanians and Bosniaks, 16 of them, were, over the past six months, able to socialize, exchange their views and point to the problems in their communities.

The project was implemented by the Academic Initiative "Forum 10", while the young concluded that the most urgent problems of South Serbia and Sandzak were identical, regardless of what the topic discussed was.

Unemployment is the largest problem, as well as the fact that their energy and capacity aren’t channeled properly and that they aren’t actively engaged in the work of local communities.

Young Albanians and Bosniaks presented their views on the problems and on the solutions for overcoming them in the publication "Sandžak and South Serbia: What Do Young People Think?", where they  addressed the issues of the rights and position of minorities , education, employment, information , interethnic relations, politics and economy.

The Academic Initiative "Forum 10" believes that it can be a good basis for initiating a dialogue between young people and socio-political elites in both minority communities.

The project of minority leaders in Sandzak and South Serbia was supported by the Foundation for an Open Society in Serbia.
