PROBLEMS TO BE SOLVED WHILE THEY ARE IN THE INITIAL STAGE, CONSTANT COMMUNICATION AND MUTUAL COOPERATION ARE THE KEY TO THE SUCCESS OF THE MEDIA IN SOUTH SERBIA

15. June 2016.

Bujanovac - At the initiative of the Coordination Body, a meeting on “The Media in South Serbia after Privatization, Preparation of Project Proposals and the Perspectives”, was held in Bujanovac yesterday. The idea was for representatives of the media to present the problems they face in their work, as well as the proposals for solving them.

Problems of the recently privatized media are related to their outstanding debts  and to how to provide sufficient funds for their smooth functioning and operation. Local media are focused on preparing project proposals and on ensuring a strong market on which everyone would have the same starting position.

What they all agree is the fact that most members of the media don’t  sufficently know how to prepare project proposals, so that they often failed in meeting the  requirements of the competitions. As a solution to the problem, it was agreed to  organize a workshop at which representatives of the Ministry of Culture and Information, along with experts in the field of preparing project proposals, would train media empoyees in how to prepare a good project proposal. The Coordination Body took upon itself to organize the workshop.

Media representatives assessed that such meetings were very important because they could hear different opinions, always learn something new and because everyone had access to a full picture of the media in the area of the covered municipalities.  That is why the Coordination Body has a long practice of gathering media employees in South Serbia at least once a year, more often if necessary, and puts emphesis on constant communication, so that the problems could be resolved as soon as the media faced them.
