The Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja communicates that the information on the closing of the Subotica Faculty of Economics’ Department in Bujanovac due to lack of funds is false.

“The Coordination Body has been supporting this educational institution since it was established. Funds for financing the said institution are earmarked in the budget of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, which is the relevant ministry, so that the operation of the Department is not threatened in any way whatsoever. Classes at the Subotica Faculty of Economics’ Department in Bujanovac are held in two languages. Classes in the Serbian language are conducted by professors from Subotica, and those in the Albanian language by professors from the State University of Tetovo, "said Zoran Stankovic, the President of the Coordination Body for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja. Mr. Stanković said that that bit of news was tendentious and aimed at bringing discomfort, as well as that it served the daily political purposes.

“The news is untrue and aimed at hindering the operation of a stable institution. Students and citizens can be sure that it is not true,”Mr. Stankovic said.
