POSSIBLE TRAINING OF STUDENTS AT THE "GEOX" FOOTWEAR MANUFACTURING PLANT IN VRANJE

29. June 2018.

Vranje - The largest Italian footwear plant "Geox" in Vranje could soon begin training students from the Pcinj district how to make shoes.

A bit over two years ago, "Geox" opened a plant in Vranje which employs 1,200 workers who produce shoes for customers in New York, Paris, London and other world capitals.

Practice at the "Geox" plant in Vranje, which would be carried out in accordance with the principle of dual education, was one of the topics discussed at the meeting of Mario Moretti Polegate, the President and Owner of the company, and Slobodan Milenkovic, the Mayor of Vranje, at which Mr. Polegato offered the opportunity for the students to be trained in learning how to manufacture "shoes that breathe".

Mr. Polegato said that the company was planning to expand the existing capacity of the plant in Vranje, adding that it would depend on the needs of the global market. The "Geox" company annually produces 20 million pairs of shoes for men, women and children.
