PAINTING COMPETITION FOR CHILDREN "HAND HYGIENE - THE MOST IMPORTANT PREVENTION MEASURE”

Belgrade - The Ministry of Health, in cooperation with the Association of Nurses of Preschool Institutions of Serbia, with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, launched a prize painting competition "Hand Hygiene for Our Health" for children in preschool institutions in Serbia. The theme of the painting competition refers to the importance and manner of proper hand washing for the purpose of preventing infectious diseases, including COVID-19 and support to the development of healthy lifestyles.

The expert jury will select 40 children's painting works that will be awarded, while one of them will be printed as a postage stamp. The awards will be presented to the representatives of preschool institutions on June 25, 2020, while letters of thanks will be handed out to all children of the educational groups that participated in the competition.

This activity is part of the Hand Hygiene Campaign of the Ministry of Health, which is being implemented as part of the National Program for the Control of Bacterial Resistance to Antibiotics, as a measure to prevent and control infection and fight COVID-19, as well as the Global Hand Hygiene Campaign of the World Health Organization.

The campaign is being implemented as part of the "Second Health Development Project of Serbia" of the Ministry of Health, in cooperation with the Institute of Public Health of Serbia "Dr Milan Jovanovic Batut", the Republican Expert Commission for the Surveillance of Hospital Infections of the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, the Association of Nurses of Preschool Institutions of Serbia and the Pharmaceutical Chamber of Serbia.
