OPEN SOCIETY FOUNDATION SERBIA: CALL WITHIN THE PROGRAM OVERCOMING SEGREGATIVE MULTICULTURALISM: TOWARDS INTERCULTURALISM

The Open Society Foundation Serbia issued a call for submitting projects under the Program Overcoming Segregative Multiculturalism: Towards Interculturalism.

The projects that can be submitted to the competition are the following:

  • Those that monitor and advocate the effective implementation of the rights of national minorities and contribute to the creation of conditions for improving the use of these rights; those that monitor the implementation of the recommendations of independent bodies and/or other institutions responsible for the exercising of the rights of national minorities, as well as international institutions monitoring the position of national minorities in Serbia; those that empower organizations and institutions that deal with the rights and position of minority communities; those that develop best practices for the implementation of minority rights at the local level; 
  • Those that advocate and create conditions for full integration of minority communities into society, and to that end encourage inter-ethnic exchanges, communication and cooperation in minority communities among themselves and with the majority of minority communities in various areas of common interest; those that encourage the participation of young people in these processes; those that inform citizens about the importance of integration of minority communities for society as a whole and promote minority policy based on the principles of integration.

Projects can be submitted by civil society organizations and institutions (citizen associations, professional associations, cultural institutions), policy institutes, state and local governmental bodies, independent state bodies and national councils of national minorities.

The Foundation will give priority to projects that use creative and innovative work methodologies, encourage inclusion of young people, have developed a communication strategy, are directed towards the citizens and encourage their participation in achieving the goals of the project. Priority will also be given to the projects involving two or more ethnic communities and/or being implemented in partnership with local organizations. 

Application forms can be downloaded on  http://www.fosserbia.org/sr/konkursi/prevazila%C5%BEenje-segregativnog-multikulturalizma-ka-interkulturalizmu.html. Project proposals are submitted exclusively in the Serbian language and submitted electronically to office.projekti@fosserbia.org  with the words "Application for Competition" and the name of the program for which one is applying.  An applicant who does not have the technical capacity to submit the project electronically can post it to the following address: Fondacija Kneginje Ljubice 14, 11000 Belgrade.     

The project can be submitted by an individual legal entity or by several legal entities together. The Foundation supports projects that are implemented in the territory of the Republic of Serbia.

The applications for the competition are received until April 14, 2019.
