ONE THIRD MORE BOLERS TO BE PRODUCED THIS YEAR

9. January 2013.

Source: Pregled  / Bujanovac – A promising year awaits around 130 employees of the “Megal” company. Firstly the company gave them the unpaid wages, while it owed them 15 wages three years ago.  With the support of the Development Fund, the owed wages were almost fully paid off to them by the end of last year.

“They will receive one more wage in mid-January. By paying that wage, we'll meet a large payment obligation to workers and will be able to easily do business in the coming years, "said Dragoljub Kostic, Director of Bujanovac factory of boilers and the central heating equipment.

“The Development Fund’s loan of 40 million dinars helped “Megal" to overcome the crisis. Production not only became steady, but it also increases from year to year. The range of products was expanded, new markets were conquered and marketing was increased. All this allowed the employees to start receiving their salaries regularly, but also to simultaneously collect the earlier outstanding debts. In 2010, "Megal" produced and sold two thousand boilers, while last year’s production reached two and a half thousand pieces.

In addition, a new product line was introduced.  According to Mr. Kostic, the factory should produce 3,200 boilers this year, or 30 per cent more boilers than last year, which is a 60 per cent more boilers than three years ago. This will have an impact on the continued improvement in the employees’ standard of living. Nearly two-thirds of boilers made in "Megal" plants ends up on the international market, such as in Greece, Macedonia, Italy, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania and Kosovo and Metohija.
