ONE-OFF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE OF 4,000 DINARS PROVIDED FOR MUNICIPAL ADMINISTRATION AND PUBLIC INSTITUTION EMPLOYEES

7. February 2018.

Bujanovac - The Municipal Council of Bujanovac complied with the requirement of the Municipal Administration workers’ trade union to pay one-off financial assistance of 4,000 dinars to everyone and not just to those who have children that are up to 15 years old. Members of the said trade union justified their requirement by their low incomes.

This decision is not final because Mayor Saip Kamberi ordered that consultations with the relevant Ministry and the State Auditor should be first held.

“Our local self-government stands well financially, while the only dilemma is whether the one-off payment to financially assist all employees is in accordance with the law. I will reverse the decision if the authorized institutions suggest that it is not, "said Mayor Kamberi at the session of the Municipal Council.

Anyhow, it was originally planned that the one-off financial assistance would amount to 5,000 dinars, but it was reduced to 4,000 dinars at the Mayor’s proposal, while a total of 1.36 million dinars for 340 workers would be earmarked in the budget for this purpose.

According to Boban Pavlovic, the Head of the Finance Department, this is the first time that such a kind of financial assistance is provided to the employees of the Municipal Administration and public institutions and organizations. The above – mentioned financial assistance will not be provided only to the employees of the PE "Komunalac" and the health center, since the municipality does not finance the payment of their salaries.

The payment of one-off financial assistance is made on the basis of a special collective agreement for employees of local self-governmental units.
