NOVELTIES IN THE LAW ON FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN

22. February 2017.

Belgrade – The Law on Financial Support to Families with Children brings significant changes, while the most notable is the one that refers to a 50 percent increased amount for disabled children.

Secondary school students in Serbia might soon be able to receive child allowance for the 13th. month, which is just one of the novelties brought by the new Law on Financial Support to Families with Children.

According to the Ministry of Labor, the number of secondary school students currently receiving money is 63,715. This means that instead of 30,000 dinars per year, secondary school students would receive a little more than 32.570 dinars per year.

As announced by the competent authorities, specific categories receiving this financial support will get higher checks. This applies to children with disabilities, whose financial support will be 50 per cent higher than what they have received so far, or what other children will receive. The said law is expected to enter the parliamentary procedure soon, while it should be adopted by the autumn at the latest.
