NORWAY HELPS SOUTH SERBIA

29. November 2012.

Source: Jugpress / Vranje – The Norwegian Ambassador to Serbia, H.E. Nils Ragner Kamsvag, said yesterday at a meeting of the Board of Directors of the PBILD Program, which was held in Vranje, that it was most important for the local self-governments of Pcinj and Jablanica districts to "have strong leaders with clearly defined objectives, so that we could jointly and through partnership implement them.”  He added that Norway had supported several projects in South Serbia that promoted economic development.

Yesterday, a meeting of the Board of Directors of the PBILD Program was held in Vranje, which was attended by the Norwegian Ambassador to Serbia and Deputy President of the UNDP Mission to Serbia   Jurg Standenmann.

Vranje Mayor, Zoran Antic, yesterday spoke about the projects implemented by the city, which should ensure around 2,000 jobs.
"We had a successful cooperation with the Scandinavian countries in the past, and we managed to realize some segments of the local community planning, which are modeled to those in your countries”, Mr. Antic said.

We held a presentation of a machine, which is a crusher of the building materials, at the “Meteris” sanitary landfill, which was, as part of the PBILD Program, donated to the city and the value of which is around 68,000 US dollars.
An agreement on the financing of technical documentation and on fitting out the new theater building in Vranje was signed yesterday at the Army Center.

“The purchase of audio and video equipment for Vranje theater is another proof that the leadership of the city works simultaneously in two directions. Apart from supporting the reconstruction of the building, for which we have collected over 17 million dinars from donations, we've managed to provide the funding for the technical operation of city’s theater, "Mr. Antic said.

The total cost of the project of equipping the theater with audio and video equipment is 28,000 US dollars.
Also, contracts were awarded yesterday to health centers in the municipalities of Bosilegrad, Crna Trava, Medvedja, Presevo and Targoviste.
