NEGOTIATIONS OF THE POLITICAL PARTIES FROM SOUTH SERBIA

6. February 2014.

The President of the Coordination Body for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, Zoran Stankovic, said that he expected that leaders of the Albanian political parties from South Serbia would decide whether they would vote in the early parliamentary elections by the end of the week.

“I expect that they would make a definite decision and adopt a uniform attitude by then, "said the President of the Coordination Body and explained that the MP Riza Halimi said that he and his party would vote in the said elections. I expect that other Albanian leaders, too, would do the same in the coming period, "said Mr.Stankovic.

Mr. Stankovic said that all domestic and international bodies and institutions, as well as the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Albania and the President of Bujanovac Municipal Assembly, proposed going to the polls.

“If the majority of the Albanians vote in the elections, they will be able to have two seats in the National Assembly instead of one, which they have had so far. In that way, they will have the opportunity to be heard, to make decisions, propose the laws and actively participate in the political life of the country. I, ttherefore, I expect they will understand that it is in their interest to vote in the elections, "said Mr. Stankovic , underlining that the talks on all the important issues for the smooth functioning of the municipalities are held with the Albanian leaders on a daily basis.
