MUNICIPALITY OF MEDVEDJA PROVIDED JOBS FOR 20 YOUNG PEOPLE WITH UNIVERSITY DEGREES

29. November 2017.

Medvedja – Thanks to the project for the economic empowerment of young people called "Employment for Youth", Medvedja managed to provide jobs to young and highly educated people.

Twenty young people with university degrees will get jobs in the local self-government of Medvedja and in its institutions, which was made possible by the signing of the contract in Belgrade by representatives of the municipality of Medvedja and the US governmental organization UNDP.

It is a pilot project which stipulates that the salaries of university graduates should be financed from the budget of the municipality of Medvedja during the first six months, and from the UNDP’s donation during another six months.

“It is the only way for educated people to find employment in Medvedja, given that the recruitment is limited by the earlier regulation. The program, which is implemented in Serbia for the first time, aims to stop the migration of young people, "said Nebojsa Arsic, the Mayor of Medvedja.

The aforementioned university graduates, among whom there are members of both the Serbian and Albanian national communities, shall take the examination of professional competence after having worked for a year.
