MRS. DJUKIC DEJANOVIC AND MRS. STANKOVIC IN PRESEVO

Presevo - Health Minister Slavica Djukic Dejanovic and President of the Coordination Body for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja Zoran Stankovic will have today in Presevo the talks on solving the problems in the area with the political representatives of the Albanians.  

The implementation of the report of the Government of the Republic of Serbia on seven topics for solving the problems of the Albanians in South Serbia begins by the visit paid by Mrs. Djukic Dejanovic and Mr. Stankovic. The said problems include security, economic issues, health, education and justice. During the visit, Mrs. Djukic Dejanovic and Mr. Stankovic will meet with the mayor of Presevo Ragmi Mustafa, as well as with the directors of health centers in Vranje, Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja. Also announced was a meeting with representatives of the Albanian political parties Riza Halimi, Nagip Arifi, Skender Destani, Jonuz Muslium, Šaip Kamberi and Rami Zulfiu. Mr. Stankovic and Mrs. Djukic Dejanovic will meet with the president of the National Council of the Albanian national minority Galip Beciri and representatives of the OSCE Mission to Serbia.

Political representatives of the Albanians from South Serbia met in Belgrade on October 10 with the Prime Minister Ivica Dacic and Mr. Stankovic. After the meeting, Mr. Stankovic told reporters that the Government of the Republic of Serbia, on June 4, reached a decision regarding the solving of problems of the Albanians and that it was then the time to make it concrete. According to him, the competent authorities are ready for the talks with the Albanians about their problems and specific people from 13 ministries were selected that need to participate in these discussions. Mr. Stankovic said that they had agreed to meet with the local Albanians every three months, when Mr. Dacic would be kept informed about the implementation of the previously agreed issues. The government’s platform refers to the representation of Albanians in state institutions, the economic recovery of the three municipalities, the official use of the  language,  script and national symbols, the decentralization of the judiciary, education, culture and the media, healthcare and social protection and security and confidence-building measures in the area.
