MR. STANKOVIC: THERE WILL NOT BE AN EXCHANGE OF TERRITORIES

23. March 2018.

Belgrade - Kadri Veselji, the Speaker of the Parliament of the provisional institutions in Pristina,  said that he would love if Presevo and Medvedja, the two municipalities in the southern part of central Serbia, could belong to the self-proclaimed Kosovo.

“Everyone knows that an exchange of territories will not occur, given that it is a generally accepted stance, which no serious and responsible person would think or talk about,” said Zoran Stankovic, the President of the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja.

“The exchange of territories is not and never will be the subject of talks. Irresponsible statements from people who are in responsible positions harm primarily those who give them and the citizens they represent, and also oblige the international community to react to the statements that may disrupt the dialogue, peace and stability," Mr. Stankovic said.

According to Mr. Stankovic, the said topic has never been on the agenda of the talks conducted thus far.

“I have repeatedly publicly expressed the attitude, which was confirmed by representatives of the international community, and which was, on the occasion of Hillary Clinton’s visit to our country, confirmed, that there would not be an exchange of territories and that the topic would not be discussed during the dialogue," said the President of the Coordination Body for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, adding:

„I do not understand how someone can change their land with themselves. "
