MPs VISITED MILITARY BASE “JUG” NEAR BUJANOVAC

Members of the Committee for Defense and Internal Affairs of the Assembly of Serbia visited members of the Army of Serbia at the “Jug” military base.  While talking to them, they positively evaluated the high level of professionalism and dedication to performing the tasks and achieving the goals of the vision and mission of the base.

Especially emphasized, as stated in the announcement of the Assembly of Serbia, was a significant participation of women in the Army of Serbia and the security system in general.

The visit was planned as one of the activities under the oversight functions of the Assembly of Serbia over the Serbian Armed Forces and defense system as a whole. Presented to members of the committee were the obligations and tasks of the Army’s Fourth Brigade, as well as the activities for making the “Jug” military base become the regional center for training units for peacekeeping operations and the Partnership for Peace Center.

The committee members who visited the military base pointed out that, in addition to the preparation of an optimal regulatory framework, direct acquaintance with the conditions of life and work of members of the units of the Army of Serbia was of great importance.

During the visit, the committee members visited the facilities of the “Jug” military base, as well as the “Borovec” tactical training ground, where a unit of the Serbian Army was preparing to participate in the UN peacekeeping mission in Lebanon.

The delegation of the committee included MP Marija Obradovic, President of the committee  Marko Djurisic, Milos Tosanic, Dragan Sutanovac and Nenad Nikolic, committee members , as well as Marija Filipovski, Stefana Miladinovic and Aleksandar Jablanović, deputy committee members.

The delegation of the committee was welcomed by Major General Slavoljub Janicijevic, Deputy Commander of the Joint Operations Command of the Serbian Army, Colonel Zoran Naskovic, Deputy Commander of the Fourth Army Brigade and Lieutenant Colonel Budimir Pesic, Deputy Commander of the 41st.  Infantry Battalion of the Fourth Brigade of the Army.
